Sunday over!?

Lo..phir aa gaya MONDAY! It’s a day to feel mundane again! A day to feel the blues! & I’m wondering.. WTF! WHERE THE HELL DID MY WEEKEND GO??

Is it an irony or what? Eversince I have become a professional, I find weekends not long enough, even if there is another day off on a Saturday or Monday. Infact, there are not many ‘big’ things that just ruin my weekend. Blame it on my sedentary lifestyle. I get up when day is almost half gone. Just lay around all day long. Watch some lame movies, play games on laptop, eat, laze and don't do jack all day. And none to blame but myself! I'm living to that fact and not going to kick myself about it. What else do you expect from a Sunday?

There were times when Sundays used to be as long as enough for the day. There were lots of things to do. Day used to start early. Morning walks, a session of cricket with dad (I miss it badly!), a healthy heart breakfast alongwith morning TV shows. Till afternoon, time used to fly by with some best-out-of-waste craft-work or de-cluttering my room or cleaning the house. Tranquil Sunday afternoons for others were never calm for me, specially, when listening to the weekly radio show based on forthcoming Diamond Comics on Vividh-Bharti. I still remember its jingle "Chunnu padhta Diamond Comics, Munni padhti Diamond Comics, Mazedaar Hai Diamond Comics..DIAMOND COMICS!" ..with an added music of “Lakdi ki kathi”! A staple Sunday lunch.. chawal with either kadhi, rajma, choley, arhar daal or roti-mutton.. was something I simply loved! A brief nap followed by cricket with my neighborhood pals towards the evening was fun. Going to market with dad, packing bags for the next day, singing classic songs/ghazals in power-cuts, an early dinner and a goodnight sleep! Mondays could never be as fresh as they were then!

Sounds like an essay on ‘how do you spend your Sunday?’ ..well that’s the way weekends were! I miss the time, and life then. Wish I could sustain that disciplined lifestyle or recuperate the same.

What if I can..may be, may be not. But atleast this post reminded me of a few good things & memories of priceless times I cherish. So whatever happens to my next weekend, this had a happy ending! :)

Sachin - The Milestone Maestro

Completing 20 years of sheer passion, it’s a cliché to refer Sachin Tendulkar as the all time greatest in the history of Cricket.

His innings of blitzkrieg capabilities have not only raised the respectable bar of India & Team India on the world map but also christened himself to the level of GOD in Indian Cricket, a cult with mass following.

No wonder, Sachin is a prodigy. His passion for the game keeps him going. He craves to play for runs, not money. & he is prepared to take on the 2011 World Cup!

When asked about his retirement plans, pat comes the reply “I am just 36. I would want to continue contributing to the nation and the team as long as I can play.”

In the end, all he wants is to be remembered as “someone who always played for the nation & the team."

Kudos to the LEGEND!

Turning back the Time!

Life being so rough, fast & furious offlate.. I sometimes feel, it would have been so wonderful if I had the power to turn the time backwards to revise some life changing events. Had I have kinda ‘Time Machine’ that could take me to the times I wish for, to change for a much better today. Few would have made many changes. & watching those fictional time travel movies, where someone knows that something is going to happen at a certain place, time & does things to change the course of the event, makes me feel just so thrilled. I wish I too could know a few things in life prior to their taking place, that could be avoided. But realizing the fact, most of the things are not the way we imagine them to be..

Well, a few things I would want to change, that could have made difference in my present life:

1. June 15, 2001: Save Daddy.
2. Sometime in late 1996 – mid 1997: Help/save myself from a miserable today.
3. Dec 4, 2004: Avoid a blunder of lifetime.
4. Sometime in 1993: Fail to see the 3 golden words.
5. June 19, 2004: Recoil from a feel.
6. Sometime in 1995: Tricks for ways with words ;)
6. June 21, 2005: Mumbai.
7. Feb 2006 – June 2008: MANY THINGS!

& actually many more things.. there is much more than I can list down here.. but may be some other time.. just a thought.. till then, I'll keep wishing..

Déjà Vu!

The ASH Effect

Aishwarya Rai.
A name I cherished, & the world still cherishes.
A name that I wanted to change from ‘Ms.Rai’ to ‘Mrs.Raizada’ 15 years back ;P
A name, a beauty with a brain, that turned 36 today.
Happy Birthday to my once a DreamGirl! :)
